Marie Chandoha

Marie Chandoha is President and CEO of Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. (CSIM), the investment advisor to Schwab Funds, Laudus Funds and Schwab ETFs™ and one of the largest money market and index fund providers in the industry.

Prior to joining Schwab in 2010, Ms. Chandoha spent three years as the global head of the fixed-income business at BlackRock (formerly Barclays Global Investors). She previously served as co-head and senior portfolio manager in charge of the Montgomery fixed-income division at Wells Capital Management; a senior bond strategist at Goldman Sachs; and managing director responsible for the global fixed-income research and economics department at Credit Suisse First Boston. Earlier in her career, Ms. Chandoha held research positions at Morgan Stanley and The Federal Reserve Bank of New York. 

Ms. Chandoha earned a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University. She is trustee of the California chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of Investment Company Institute.

Omar Aguilar

Omar Aguilar joined Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. ("CSIM") in April 2011 as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Equities. He is responsible for CSIM’s equity and asset allocation mutual funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs) and separately managed accounts. Mr. Aguilar has more than 20 years of broad investment management experience in the equity markets, including managing index, quantitative equity, asset allocation and multi-manager strategies.
Prior to joining CSIM, Mr. Aguilar was with Financial Engines, where he was responsible for managing more than $40 billion in assets from leading retirement plan sponsors in the defined contribution market. Prior to that, he served as head of quantitative equity for ING Investment Management, building and developing the group and managing more than $20 billion in assets with 15 global active, index and enhanced index strategies for pension funds, variable annuities and mutual funds. Mr. Aguilar also served as the head of quantitative research for Lehman Brothers’ alternative investment management business, and as a director of quantitative research and portfolio manager with both Merrill Lynch Investment Management and Bankers Trust.

Mr. Aguilar received a B.S. in actuarial sciences and a graduate degree in applied statistics from the Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM). He was a Fulbright Scholar at Duke University’s Institute of Statistics and Decisions Sciences, where he earned his M.S. and Ph.D.

Brett Wander

Brett Wander joined Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. ("CSIM") in June 2011 as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income. He is responsible for all aspects of the firm's fixed-income and money market portfolios, leading a team of more than a dozen investment professionals. Over his more than 20 years of investment management experience, Mr. Wander has been intimately involved in the design, development and oversight of a wide range of active, indexed and alternative fixed-income strategies. His expertise spans a wide range of global and domestic markets and sectors.

Prior to joining CSIM, Mr. Wander was senior managing director at State Street Global Advisors, where he managed and directed the firm’s $30 billion active fixed-income enterprise. He also held senior fixed-income leadership positions at Loomis Sayles, State Street Research and Payden & Rygel; in those roles, he designed investment processes, developed risk-management methodologies, managed investment teams, and consistently generated strong investment performance track records.
Mr. Wander has published several articles on a variety of investment topics, including risk management, asset allocation, the analysis and use of hedge funds, the application of quantitative investment approaches, and other topics focusing on both theoretical and practical investment concepts. He is a frequent industry speaker, presenting at conferences and in various media forums. He has taught MBA-level investment courses at the University of Southern California.
Mr. Wander earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in System Science Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
